Prep Schools and Blackmail and Murder, Oh My!

So today has been a whirlwind day of reading. I had classes in the morning and some time to kill before an advising appointment, so I sat in the library at read The Angels Kiss, which can be seen in my last post. I guess that just wasn't enough for me, since I then went through to books that I had uploaded on my nook and found Prep School Confidential by Kara Taylor. It took me only about 4 hours to read but it was a great YA mystery about a murder at a boarding school for high school students.

It's filled with intrigue, dead ends and suspense and thus it's hard to put down until you finish it. Another plus? I couldn't guess the ending until the last 30 pages of this 280 page book. In most crime novels or TV show the same plot is used or it's so cliche that you know in seconds, but Kara Thomas did a great job of mixing together different strand of drama and messed up lives into one great murder mystery. I enjoyed it immensely and though it wasn't fine literature, it was a great quick read to take a break from class readings and remind myself that reading doesn't have to border on being a punishment (you should see my textbooks...)
